Core Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance systems utilizing Unreal Engine and UEFN

• Assist in defining the technological platform that supports game teams

• Produce maintainable code using C++, Verse, Python, and other relevant programming languages

• Contribute to improvements in core systems that support Unreal Engine and UEFN development at Disney

• Create and refine internal tools, automate developer workflows, establish pipelines, and manage source-control infrastructure

• Leverage AI coding tools in daily development tasks and contribute to the enhancement of engineering workflows

• Draft clear documentation for technical projects

• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and producers in a multidisciplinary setting

• Report to the Director of Engineering for Game Engines

⛳️ Requirements

• Required professional experience with C++ and Unreal Engine

• Background in engine and tools development, systems enhancement, feature implementation, and workflow optimization

• Comprehension of how components integrate within a technology stack

• Experience with Verse, Python, other programming languages, or additional game engines is advantageous

• A sense of curiosity and a desire to learn new areas through documentation, AI tools, and collaboration with teammates

• Capability to work collaboratively across different disciplines and support team members

• Proficiency in articulating ideas, providing updates, and explaining technical concepts to engineers, designers, and stakeholders

• Initiative and effective problem-solving skills

• Ability to transform ambiguous direction into concrete results

• Computer science education or equivalent experiential learning is acceptable
