Core Protocol & Systems Engineering – Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the architecture, design, and implementation of core systems and networking elements.

• Lead the design and development of sophisticated networking and system-level modules using C/C++.

• Create and improve features within the TCP/IP protocol suite, encompassing packet processing, routing, and L2/L3 functionalities.

• Propel performance enhancements, including CPU core utilization, memory behavior, threading models, and strategies for mitigating interrupts.

• Assist the team in adopting best practices for debugging, instrumentation, profiling, and performance optimization.

• Work closely with product management and cross-functional teams to ensure technical direction aligns with the platform roadmap.

• Mentor engineers on multithreading, system design, and maintaining code quality.

• Evaluate architecture specifications, design documents, and implementation plans for accuracy, scalability, and maintainability.

• Present findings and architectural suggestions to leadership and stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• BE/ME in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, MCS.

• 6–8 years of experience in networking/system software development, with a background in leading small teams or managing significant components.

• Strong leadership capabilities and a proven ability to influence technical direction.

• Demonstrated ability to decompose complex problems and drive effective execution.

• Exceptional communication skills and proficiency in architectural documentation.

• Expert-level knowledge of C/C++ and systems programming.

• Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching protocols, as well as L2/L3 stacks.

• Solid knowledge of Linux internals, kernel networking, namespaces, and syscalls.

• Extensive experience with multithreading, lock-free design, and concurrency control.

• Advanced knowledge of memory models, NUMA, caches, and CPU/interrupt affinity.
