This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and implement grassroots outreach strategies to engage participants, teams, and sponsors who are invested in the cause.
• Deliver outstanding customer service through a fundraising hotline and general email inbox for external stakeholders.
• Oversee multi-channel outreach to participants (including ringless voicemail, texting platforms, calls, cards, and emails) to retain previous participants, support current ones, and boost registration and fundraising efforts.
• Track fundraiser and team performance to ensure prompt responses, recognize achievements, and guide captains and individuals to enhance fundraising outcomes.
• Oversee fundraising coaching and recruitment for the National Virtual Run/Walk event ($50k) and the National Teams program ($20k+ national activation).
• Establish and lead executive volunteer committees for Run/Walk events; recruit, assign, manage, train, and communicate with volunteers, including support on the event day.
• Conduct sponsorship prospecting and cold calling to secure new partnerships for the Run/Walk Series.
• Identify, nurture, and manage prospective fundraising teams, sponsors, and donors; solicit, secure, and oversee fundraising, sponsorship, and in-kind contributions.
• Participate in virtual and in-person meetings and events with sponsors, volunteers, committees, and community partners to further fundraising objectives.
• Organize event day logistics, including setup, execution, and breakdown (8+ hours on-site).
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in fundraising development within a nonprofit organization.
• Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with participants, donors, volunteers, and team members.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
• Valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, a good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
• Proven ability to inspire and mobilize individuals to meet fundraising goals.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented approach.
• Strong multi-tasking abilities to manage several projects at once.
• Capability to effectively communicate ZERO's mission while encouraging others to support the cause.
• Established ability to build and maintain relationships with donors and sponsors.
• Proficient in phone communication and comfortable with cold calling when necessary.
• Excellent project management skills with a focus on detail.
• Familiarity with peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising software and event management.
