This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Control Systems Engineer III is responsible for providing technical support to plan, schedule, and execute hardware engineering and implementation of Building Automation Systems projects across healthcare, industrial, commercial, and mission-critical technology sectors.
• Collaborate with MEP engineers, ICT engineers, construction contractors, equipment vendors, and client personnel to ensure the proper operation and acceptance of BAS designs.
• Develop and implement Hardware Engineering Solutions (70%).
• Support integration designs for DDC and PLC programmable controller-based control systems for various projects.
• Assist in the design of BAS controls and EPMS integrator shop drawings.
• Design controls network/system architecture, including IT/OT requirements, to align with application needs.
• Aid in selecting instrumentation, sensors, actuators, valves, and other field devices, and generate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Contribute to control panel designs, including layout, control power, relay logic, and wiring diagrams.
• Review project specifications.
• Analyze sequence of operations.
• Collaborate with client IT departments to ensure secure systems that meet industry best practices.
• Oversee Construction Related Processes, Deliverables, and Submissions (15%).
• Review and submit deliverables according to project requirements, including shop drawings, product data, operations and maintenance manuals, and as-builts.
• Engage in building automation-focused design reviews.
• Act as the client contact for one or more projects of routine scope.
• Participate in internal and external quality control and peer reviews.
• Coordinate with vendors regarding product specifications, pricing, and availability.
• Take part in internal and external project meetings discussing engineering scope.
• Reporting and Communication (15%).
• Contribute to project communications and reporting activities.
• Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage personal hours utilizing company tools.
• Ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks and deliverables within budget.
• Proficient in using the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) with excellent organizational skills for file management.
• Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Ability to complete assignments with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of IoT or smart building solutions.
• Understanding of VLANs, LANs, VPNs, or RSTP.
• Proficiency in OT protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, and MQTT).
• Familiarity with Distech, Tridium, Honeywell DDC, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider PLC hardware platforms.
• Capacity to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows, optimize operational processes, and promote innovation across the company.
• Ability to thrive in a remote work environment through effective communication, organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace.
• Capability to adhere to company and site safety protocols.
• Proficient in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for conveying both technical and non-technical information.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with moderate supervision.
• Capacity to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to obtain certification for NFPA70E and/or OSHA training as required.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
