Controls Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee the engineering scope, budget, and timeline to ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality projects on schedule.

• Support engineering teams throughout various stages of project development, from initial concept design to implementation and testing.

• Ensure that project team members produce deliverables that meet or exceed customer expectations and standards.

• Take ownership of issues and work towards their resolution with both internal and external clients.

• Operate independently while being proactive in seeking assistance and leveraging the best internal, customer, and industry resources to accurately and efficiently meet requirements.

• Cultivate and sustain positive, long-term professional relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers, and industry partners.

• Keep precise and detailed project documentation, which includes design specifications, test plans, and progress reports.

• Communicate effectively, both in person and in writing, to ensure customers, contractors, and project teams are well-informed of relevant information in a timely manner.

• Promote a collaborative environment where new ideas are shared and developed.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least five years of experience in machine controls or packaging within the pulp and paper industries.

• Proficient in Allen-Bradley PLC programming software (RS Logix, Studio 5000).

• Capable of developing a PLC program from the ground up or modifying an existing program based on customer-specific templates.

• Skilled in FactoryTalk HMI development.

• Experience in designing control system networks utilizing Ethernet, ControlNet, and DeviceNet.

• Familiarity with designing, programming, and configuring Variable Frequency Drive systems, particularly with Rockwell hardware.

• A minimum of a Two-Year Degree in an electrical technology field; a Four-Year Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

• Background in designing, programming, and configuring servo systems, especially with Rockwell hardware.

• Experience in configuring and programming Fanuc robotic systems is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Knowledge of Safety Control Systems.

• Prior experience as a control engineering lead for large capital projects.

• Willingness to travel, typically less than 25% of the time.
