This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Conduct on-site commissioning of automated material handling systems, which encompass conveyors, sorters, merges, and associated subsystems.
• Execute I/O checkouts, safety inspections, device validation, and verification of field wiring to confirm system readiness.
• Set up, test, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, and industrial network components (e.g., Ethernet/IP, OPCUA, MQTT, IO-Link).
• Assess system functionality against design specifications and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and project engineering teams to address issues and enhance system performance.
• Assist with system integration testing, stress testing, and throughput validation.
• Record commissioning results, document system modifications, maintain punch lists, and prepare test reports.
• Educate customer operations and maintenance teams on system functionality and operational best practices.
• Offer on-site assistance during the go-live and commissioning phases.
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field; equivalent hands-on experience will also be taken into account.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in the commissioning of industrial automation, controls, or material handling systems.
• Familiarity with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or comparable systems.
• Experience with industrial field devices, including sensors, scanners, encoders, actuators, and safety devices.
• Understanding of industrial networking concepts, including Ethernet/IP and various industrial communication protocols.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities, with a capacity to diagnose and resolve issues within project timelines.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% to customer locations during project commissioning.
