Controller – Senior Accountant Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily bookkeeping and accounting activities across various entities.

• Ensure precise maintenance of general ledger entries and the chart of accounts.

• Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.

• Prepare journal entries and lead the month-end closing processes.

• Generate financial reports and operational insights for management.

• Maintain and audit financial records using QuickBooks Online.

• Monitor customer balances, collection efforts, and outstanding invoices.

• Track commissions and handle partner-related accounting tasks.

• Proactively identify and rectify discrepancies in accounting.

• Enhance accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls.

• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation for the finance department.

⛳️ Requirements

• QuickBooks Online (5+ years required): Minimum of 5 years of active experience with QuickBooks Online.

• Accounting Experience (5+ years): At least 5 years of comprehensive, full-cycle accounting experience.

• Controller or Senior Accounting Title: Previous or current role as Controller, Contralora, Contadora General, or a comparable senior accounting title.

• Multi-Entity Experience: Proven experience managing accounting for three or more legal entities concurrently.

• Advanced English (B2 minimum, C1 preferred): Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with U.S.-based leadership without needing translation assistance.

• Remote U.S. Work Experience: Must have served as the accounting owner for a U.S. company or U.S.-based client—not merely international exposure or incidental interaction with U.S. teams.

• Accrual Accounting: In-depth knowledge of accrual accounting principles including revenue recognition, prepaid amortization, depreciation, and period-end adjustments.

• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets: Proficient in advanced Excel or Google Sheets, including skills in pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.

• Independent Work Ethic: Capability to manage multiple priorities autonomously in a fast-paced growth environment with minimal supervision.
