Controller, Retail Industry Experience Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• We are seeking a **Financial Controller** to become a part of our expanding team, dedicated to assisting a portfolio of **retail companies**.

• Your role will encompass the complete accounting cycle, financial reporting, inventory management, and providing guidance to leadership teams—while recognizing opportunities for enhanced systems, processes, and profitability.

• Act as a reliable advisor to several retail business presidents, customizing financial insights to meet their operational requirements.

• Oversee full-cycle accounting functions including A/P, A/R, GL, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and payroll.

• Generate trial balances, variance analyses, and financial reporting dashboards utilizing OneStream or comparable platforms.

• Spot and execute process enhancements across accounting systems, POS integrations, and reporting workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA preferred)

• 5+ years of experience in a Controller or Senior Accounting position

• Demonstrated expertise in restaurant accounting, ideally with multi-location operations

• Experience in small to medium-sized enterprises; fractional or outsourced accounting experience is a plus

• Tech-savvy and adaptable; comfortable in remote, fast-paced environments

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, POS systems, and Excel

• Familiarity with US GAAP
