Controller – LatAm

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage all facets of accounting operations, encompassing general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

• Design, implement, and uphold internal financial controls and procedures.

• Ensure the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that adhere to US GAAP.

• Direct the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing updates for forecasting.

• Monitor financial performance, analyze discrepancies, and propose corrective measures.

• Facilitate strategic decision-making through precise financial data and analysis.

• Prepare and coordinate audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax filings.

• Lead and mentor the accounting team, nurturing a culture of growth and accountability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, offering financial insights to bolster business initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• CPA or an equivalent certification is preferred.

• Over 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a US-based firm.

• Recent experience in a role such as Accounting Manager, Controller, or Director within a US company.

• At least 5 years of experience at a prestigious public accounting firm (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Grant Thornton).

• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Dynamics).

• Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling.

• Fluent in English with strong communication abilities.

• Located in Mexico or Latin America and able to work during US time zone hours.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
