Controller, Investment Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the accounting processes for Ondo’s investment products.

• Review daily NAV calculations and verify outputs from fund administrators.

• Supervise P&L reporting, performance calculations, and reconciliations, including cash, positions, pricing, and corporate actions.

• Ensure precision across high-volume trade flows and intricate financial instruments.

• Manage accounting related to fees, expenses, and capital activities such as subscriptions, redemptions, and distributions.

• Prepare and review financial statements for all funds and share classes.

• Establish and uphold internal controls and accounting policies.

• Guarantee consistent and precise reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Act as the main decision-maker for accounting-related day-to-day issues and edge cases.

• Coordinate and facilitate annual audits in collaboration with external auditors.

• Oversee tax reporting and collaborate with external tax advisors.

• Assist with regulatory filings and compliance mandates.

• Prepare investor statements and reporting packages.

• Manage capital activity reporting and communications with investors.

• Support requests for investor due diligence.

• Foster relationships with fund administrators and accounting service providers.

• Monitor deliverables to ensure both accuracy and timeliness.

• Escalate issues and drive enhancements in external processes.

• Contribute to the leadership of the implementation and scaling of Geneva (or similar fund accounting systems).

• Enhance accounting workflows to accommodate increasing trade volumes and complexities.

• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks as systems expand.

• Decrease reliance on manual processes and enhance automation.

• Collaborate with investment operations, legal, compliance, and finance teams.

• Provide accounting insights for new product development and operational design.

• Assist in the expansion into new products, including margin, perpetual futures, and derivatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in fund accounting or investment accounting within the asset management sector.

• Experience in hedge funds, multi-strategy platforms, or trading environments, particularly those involving high-volume or systematic trading.

• Strong understanding of GAAP, fund structures, and various financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, and derivatives.

• Proficient in NAV calculations, reconciliations, and investor reporting.

• Experience in coordinating audits and collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors.

• Proven ability to operate independently and make sound accounting decisions.

• Experience in environments characterized by significant trade volume or operational complexity.

• Exceptional attention to detail and documentation capabilities.
