Controller – E-Commerce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the month-end closing process and oversee all essential accounting activities for your designated pod.

• Analyze Management Reports that include Key Metrics.

• Ensure accurate reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and conduct trend analysis for both the balance sheet and P&L.

• This includes reconciling inventory (Physical, Sub to GL), handling inventory write-offs and obsolescence adjustments, and verifying individual product costs while ensuring precision in inventory software and systems.

• Review Accounts Receivable processing and aging reports (collections are not included).

• Review Accounts Payable processing, aging reports, and oversee bill payments in Bill.com (or similar software) for clients.

• Review Payroll Processing, which includes journal entries and accruals.

• Provide ad hoc reports or details as needed.

• Deliver Dashboards and KPIs to clients.

• Assist clients in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to finance and accounting best practices.

• Educate clients about their financial status and serve as a strategic advisor and problem-solver.

• Manage client communications and act as an escalation point.

• Supervise and train the team on client-related and administrative responsibilities.

• Create SOPs and training materials, contributing as a thought partner to the internal team.

• Lead training sessions.

• Strategically guide your team in optimizing efficiencies, establishing automations, and ensuring AI integration wherever feasible.

• Oversee budget management for your pod.

• Maintain organized files and document storage.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.

• At least 2 years of experience in a multi-client or consulting capacity.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.

• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel is essential.

• Experience with NetSuite and Xero is highly valued.

• Prior experience with e-commerce clients is required.

• Familiarity with typical e-commerce technology stacks, such as Shopify, Amazon, PayPal, and Bill.com, is necessary.

• A solid understanding of GAAP and a strong grasp of accounting best practices is required.

• Exceptional analytical and communication skills are essential.

• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time in a remote work setting is required.

• A proactive, team-oriented mindset is essential.
