This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise all accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Create and uphold precise Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity strategies.
• Direct the annual budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with an external CPA firm for year-end audits, reviews, and tax submissions.
• Develop and prepare an internal monthly reporting package for the parent corporation.
• Maintain accurate job cost tracking for substantial commercial steel erection projects.
• Observe labor productivity, equipment expenses, subcontractor costs, and material discrepancies.
• Provide operations with critical financial data and insights.
• Work alongside Project Managers to assess project financial performance.
• Evaluate cost overruns, change orders, and margin forecasts.
• Ensure that revenue recognition complies with ASC 606 standards.
• Establish and execute KPI’s for the senior management team.
• Oversee weekly union payroll processing.
• Ensure adherence to union agreements.
• Supervise certified payroll reporting and compliance with prevailing wage laws.
• Coordinate union remittances and reporting obligations.
• Manage the preparation and submission of AIA progress billings.
• Track change order documentation and billing.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA preferred).
• Over 7 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 3–5 years in construction accounting.
• Background in structural steel, specialty subcontracting, or heavy commercial construction is highly preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of job cost accounting and WIP reporting.
• Experience with union payroll and multi-state payroll compliance.
• Familiarity with AIA billing processes and construction contracts.
• Proficiency in construction accounting software (Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, or similar).
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
