This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead essential accounting functions, encompassing general ledger management, revenue accounting, cost analysis, and the monthly closing process.

• Uphold and implement accounting policies in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

• Take ownership of the monthly and quarterly closing processes, including establishing timelines, deliverables, and conducting reviews.

• Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet through thorough reconciliations and account analyses.

• Provide accurate and timely financial statements along with management reports.

• Oversee revenue recognition efforts in accordance with ASC 606.

• Guarantee precise accounting for event-related costs, vendor expenses, staffing expenditures, and client billing.

• Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, and banking relationships.

• Maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting.

• Lead and nurture the accounting team, setting clear goals and performance expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including roles in leadership; prior experience in staffing, marketing, or service-oriented environments is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is mandatory.

• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606; experience with ERP systems (such as NetSuite or similar) is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to enhance closing processes, bolster controls, and implement effective accounting workflows.

• Views accounting as a strategic business tool that enhances performance and informs decision-making.

• Capable of articulating financial results clearly to both finance professionals and non-finance stakeholders.

• Proven success in collaborating effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
