Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Act as the outsourced Controller for a collection of clients based in the US.

• Engage proactively, take part in calls and meetings, and ensure that every interaction meets high standards of service and responsiveness.

• Facilitate the onboarding of new clients by developing accounting processes, systems, and procedures.

• Oversee special projects such as system migrations, preparation for M&A, budget creation, redesigning the chart of accounts, and other strategic financial initiatives.

• Prepare and review timely and precise monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements along with management reports.

• Offer strategic financial advice to clients regarding growth, investor reporting, and compliance matters.

• Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of overall accounting and finance experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a Controller position at a US-based public accounting firm.

• Proven experience supporting investor-backed (VC/PE) or high-growth companies with annual revenues exceeding $5 million.

• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting standards, and US compliance, including payroll, sales & use tax, property tax, and business licenses.

• Practical experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online/Desktop, and Advanced Excel.

• Capacity to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously without sacrificing quality.

• Experience in managing, mentoring, and developing a team of accounting professionals.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and reliability in all aspects of work.
