This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, guide, and cultivate the Accounting team, promoting a culture of precision, responsibility, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
• Supervise all accounting functions and financial reporting, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, revenue, tax compliance, and equity management.
• Ensure the timely and precise completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings in accordance with GAAP standards.
• Establish, uphold, and continually enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures to foster a robust control environment and support scalable growth.
• Oversee the annual financial statement audit, tax compliance, and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers.
• Collaborate with the VP of Finance to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses that guide strategic decision-making.
• Identify and execute process improvements and system enhancements to boost efficiency and scalability.
• Assist with strategic initiatives, new product launches, system implementations, and other major business transactions as necessary, including the creation or revision of standard operating procedures.
• Offer financial leadership and insights to cross-functional teams, converting complex data into actionable recommendations.
• Mentor and support the development of team members, enhancing their professional growth and effectiveness.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA Required; MBA or CMA is a plus)
• Background in a controller position at a multi-entity start-up or high-growth organization
• Over 8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, audits, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting systems and ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
• Ability to design and implement financial controls and process enhancements
• Understanding of compliance requirements, tax laws, and audit best practices.
