📋 Description

• Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, guaranteeing precise and timely financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

• Uphold the integrity of financial statements while progressively enhancing closing procedures, documentation, supporting schedules, and internal controls.

• Provide timely monthly financial reports to the board of directors.

• Collaborate with the CFO on a crucial initiative to shift to departmental budgets, which includes a complete revision of the existing reporting structure.

• Ensure the maintenance of accounting policies and controls across all departments.

• Supervise inventory cost accounting, accuracy of COGS, and gross margin analysis across domestic, DTC, and international sales channels; keep records of inventory obsolescence.

• Oversee revenue recognition across all sales channels, incorporating customer trading terms, discounts, allowances, returns, and damaged goods.

• Manage the ERP system (NetSuite), pinpointing opportunities for process and reporting enhancements.

• Act as the primary contact for the bank, managing credit facilities and ensuring adherence to covenants and audits.

• Supervise the end-to-end credit control function, with daily collection efforts managed by the team.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues.

• Assume responsibility for the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate recording of expenses and accruals, and managing payments in line with working capital while maintaining supplier relationships.

• Work alongside external auditors to finalize the annual review of the company's financial statements.

• Manage sales tax obligations in all U.S. states utilizing Avalara.

• Oversee payroll, benefits, and 401(k) administration, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax and labor regulations.

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of three accounting professionals.

• Partner with cross-functional departments, offering accounting insights that bolster planning, forecasting, and decision-making.


⛳️ Requirements

• 8–10+ years of accounting experience, encompassing leadership roles.

• Previous experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector is essential, preferably with Omni-Channel sales experience involving retailers such as Amazon.

• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.

• Experience in managing federal and state tax filings.

• Practical experience with ERP systems; NetSuite is preferred.

• Proven history of transforming accounting processes.

• Capability to function effectively in an ambiguous, fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Demonstrated proficiency in leading and coaching teams.

• Strong change management and leadership abilities.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial issues.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; an active CPA is a significant advantage.
