This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Manage daily financial operations such as accounting, billing, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), payroll, trust accounting, collections, and general ledger maintenance, ensuring financial records are accurate and providing essential financial information to the legal team.
• Generate monthly financial statements, budget variance analyses, and cash flow projections, while monitoring revenue growth and significant financial trends to facilitate strategic decision-making.
• Oversee the preparation of invoices, manage payment plans, track A/R aging, enforce collection procedures, and address disputes, chargebacks, and refund requests.
• Recognize financial risks, compliance challenges, and weaknesses in processes, while assisting with audits, tax preparation through collaboration with external bookkeepers and CPA, as well as conducting balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Supervise bookkeepers, billing specialists, payroll providers, and outsourced vendors, acting as the internal expert on accounting software, billing systems, and financial workflows.
• Evaluate profitability by service, attorney, and marketing channel, assist with pricing assessments, monitor key metrics, and help leadership grasp the financial health of the firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally within a law firm, professional services firm, or another service-oriented business.
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, A/R, A/P, payroll, and month-end closing processes.
• Familiarity with billing systems, client payment arrangements, collections, and accounts receivable management.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software, legal billing systems, Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, and financial reporting tools.
• Capability to produce precise financial reports and articulate them clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proven track record of identifying financial risks, establishing controls, and resolving discrepancies.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• High standards of integrity, confidentiality, discretion, and professional judgment.
• Capacity to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic law firm environment.
• Preferred Qualifications
• CPA, MBA, advanced finance/accounting certification, or equivalent experience.
• Over 8 years of experience in accounting, controller, or finance operations roles.
• Experience in applying AI process design to finance.
• Previous experience in a law firm or legal services setting.
• Familiarity with tools such as QuickBooks Online, Stripe, Asana, law firm practice management software, or similar systems.
• Experience creating dashboards, centralized KPI and SKU reports, balanced scorecards, and financial performance analytics.
• Background in supervising bookkeepers, billing specialists, payroll providers, and external accounting vendors.
• Knowledge in pricing analysis, SKU profitability, labor utilization, realization, collection rate analysis, and cost-of-acquisition reporting.
• Experience in supporting strategic planning, cash flow management, debt repayment strategies, and owner distribution planning.
