This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, manage, and enhance the closing process.
• Oversee and perform quality checks on all bookkeeping activities, ensuring both accuracy and completeness.
• Review and authorize journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Uphold and implement accounting policies in accordance with GAAP and technical accounting standards.
• Manage the audit process from start to finish — overseeing external auditors and ensuring timely completion.
• Handle all tax filings and extension renewals, including compliance with sales tax regulations across various jurisdictions.
• Maintain a proactive compliance calendar to ensure no deadlines are overlooked.
• Collaborate with external tax accountants and legal advisors on technical accounting issues.
• Identify and execute process enhancements within the accounting department.
• Continue to advance automation initiatives within the finance framework.
• Foster an AI-first approach — continually assess tooling opportunities to enhance efficiency.
• Develop scalable workflows that accommodate company growth without a corresponding increase in headcount.
• CPA certification is required; strong GAAP expertise with the ability to manage complex technical accounting issues.
• Previous experience in a PE-backed SaaS company.
• Experience in leading or assisting with ERP implementations.
• Proven track record of utilizing AI, automation, or workflow tools in finance/accounting.
• Experience in FP&A or providing analytical project support.
• Demonstrated experience in managing the closing process — owning the complete cycle from journal entries to financial statements.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks; experience in managing and developing a bookkeeping team.
• Detail-oriented with a stringent approach to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
