This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the main financial liaison for designated clients, fostering trusted and professional relationships.
• Engage proactively with clients regarding deliverables, timelines, challenges, and financial outcomes.
• Conduct regular client meetings or check-ins to review financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and cash flow.
• Deliver financial information in a clear and client-friendly manner, customized to the client’s financial understanding.
• Address client inquiries promptly and professionally, escalating issues as necessary.
• Supervise and execute month-end and year-end closing processes for multiple client entities concurrently.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
• Execute and review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses.
• Keep organized, audit-ready workpapers and documentation for all client projects.
• Collaborate with tax preparers to confirm financial records are precise and prepared for tax compliance.
• Handle multiple simultaneous client engagements, monitoring progress against deadlines and internal objectives.
• Identify potential risks to timely delivery and inform leadership proactively.
• Independently organize and prioritize workload, ensuring that recurring deliverables are completed punctually.
• Maintain current records in the firm’s project management system, accurately reflecting engagement status and time.
• Review the work of bookkeepers and staff accountants assigned to client projects, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, aiding in the development of both technical skills and professional judgment.
• Establish clear expectations for staff on client projects and follow up to ensure quality standards are upheld.
• Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, document processes, and foster a positive, high-performance work environment.
• Effectively utilize accounting platforms (QuickBooks Online, Xero, and others) to maintain client records and generate reports.
• Contribute to the creation and documentation of firm standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and quality within client engagements and firm workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a Controller or Senior Accountant role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar).
• Ability to manage multiple clients or projects simultaneously under firm deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Capable of conveying financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
