This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise the precision and promptness of accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee advanced and technical accounting tasks, including payroll and benefits journal entries, revenue recognition, cost of revenue, and stock compensation expenses.
• Manage the month-end close process and generate monthly financial statements.
• Administer semi-monthly payroll for W-2 employees across the nation, as well as non-US employees and international contractors.
• Calculate quarterly sales commissions and other variable compensation for individuals.
• Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Create monthly budget-to-actual comparisons and variance analyses for leadership review.
• Manage cash flow, including reporting, analysis, and forecasting.
• Address internal financial inquiries and evaluate the company’s financial health and strategic direction.
• Escalate and resolve intricate billing issues involving customers and vendors.
• Ensure financial statements comply with GAAP standards and research/document accounting policies.
• Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, accounting dimensions, and integrations with accounting systems.
• Collaborate with People & Operations to support the HRIS, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage benefits.
• Oversee quarterly and annual federal and state income tax returns as well as other tax compliance submissions.
• Finalize month-end close and financial statements.
• Review revenue and cost-of-revenue entries and make necessary adjustments.
• Establish monthly tracking and reporting for gross margins by product/service.
• Enhance and document revenue recognition processes.
• Develop a process for monthly stock compensation expense tracking.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA certification is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a Controller role is required.
• Candidates must be located in and primarily work from either the Pacific or Mountain Time Zones.
• Prior experience in finance within a SaaS organization is essential.
• Proven track record of scaling and enhancing finance and accounting operations.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to manage time efficiently in a remote, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial.
• Adaptability to shifting business needs and deadlines is necessary.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• A passion for video games, tabletop games, the gaming industry, and/or content creation is preferred.
