This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the monthly and year-end financial closing procedures, ensuring that consolidated financial statements are prepared accurately and on time for all subsidiaries of the company.
• Supervise the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general ledger teams to achieve high-quality, customer-centric results.
• Continuously improve the utilization of the company’s ERP system and integrate it with other platforms such as HRIS/payroll, site payment, and additional tools in use throughout the organization.
• Enhance the documentation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls while ensuring compliance.
• Conduct necessary research and analysis on accounting matters and keep abreast of evolving accounting regulations and their implications for the company’s accounting policies.
• Monitor global cash flow, handle transfer pricing and intercompany transactions, and manage foreign currency hedging activities.
• Collaborate with external auditors to produce annual audited financial statements.
• Coordinate with international tax advisors to ensure timely completion of tax returns and other regulatory submissions.
• Lead, coach, and mentor the accounting team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
• Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm.) degree.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
• Over 10 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in managing, motivating, and mentoring accounting teams.
• Proficient in financial software with experience in implementing and optimizing ERP systems and other accounting solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting principles.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking capabilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on customer service and quality.
• Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
