This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Responsible for the monthly close, financial statements, and variance analysis for the CEO and fractional CFO.
• Manage revenue recognition and deferred revenue across various subledger accounts.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, payroll coordination, and ensure sales tax compliance.
• Generate product line profit and loss statements and customer profitability reports for our major accounts.
• Coordinate tax compliance efforts with our external CPA.
• Create documentation and standard operating procedures for all recurring processes, fostering institutional knowledge retention.
• First 90 Days — Define Success as achieving timely monthly close within 10 business days.
• Establish a documented close checklist, chart of accounts, and journal entry log.
• Identify 5–7 core business metrics in collaboration with the CEO, integrating them into the monthly reporting package.
• Deliver clean monthly financials that the CEO can confidently review.
• Build effective working relationships with the external CPA and fractional CFO.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience is preferred; open to candidates with 5 years and exceptional experience in managing deferred revenue at scale.
• CPA or an international equivalent is preferred.
• Proven experience with deferred revenue in multi-channel businesses, such as subscriptions, gift cards, platform credits, customer prepayments, or similar models.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and familiarity with a contemporary finance stack.
• Capable of management accounting — including actuals-based product line profit and loss statements, profitability analysis, and driver reporting. Forward-looking planning and forecasting will be handled by our fractional CFO.
• Comfortable collaborating with a fractional CFO who will review your work.
• Detail-oriented, precision-focused, and takes pride in maintaining clean financial records.
• Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proficient in most Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas.
• Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking operations.
• Knowledge of financial data analysis and reporting techniques.
• Familiarity with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
