This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the development of exceptional accounting departments for expanding US firms.

• Manage accounting operations and lead a dedicated team.

• Enhance GAAP compliance and ensure accuracy during month-end closing.

• Provide executives with accurate and timely financial information.

• Oversee accounting personnel, optimize processes, and resolve intricate accounting challenges.

• Act as a strategic financial partner to executive leadership teams.

• Take ownership of financial oversight, quality assurance, and review duties across various client projects.

• Mentor accounting teams and enhance reporting workflows.

• Drive accounting delivery rather than merely handling bookkeeping tasks.

• Engage in client meetings to present financial outcomes and insights.

• Manage client expectations and proactively communicate regarding deadlines and issues.

• Streamline processes, templates, and automation within accounting systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in US accounting.

• More than 3 years in US Accounting Manager or Director roles.

• In-depth understanding of US GAAP with the capability to interpret and apply standards.

• Practical experience in reviewing monthly closings and financial statements.

• Proficiency in Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and cloud accounting software (QBO/Xero).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a disciplined approach to documentation.

• Availability to work during US business hours.

• CPA or CMA certification (or equivalent senior-level experience).

• Experience in construction, nonprofit, government contracting, or project accounting.

• Proven ability to lead remote teams.
