This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Prepare and assess financial statements that comply with GAAP in a timely manner.
• Ensure adherence to ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
• Provide management reporting and assist in creating materials for the board.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.
• Enhance and automate accounting processes for scalability.
• Maintain robust accounting policies and documentation.
• Lead the annual audits of financial statements.
• Cultivate relationships with external auditors and tax consultants.
• Design and uphold effective internal control systems.
• Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury functions.
• Supervise banking relationships.
• Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide financial insights to aid executive decision-making.
• Recruit, manage, and develop members of the accounting team.
• Establish a scalable accounting infrastructure.
• Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Lead by example as a player-coach, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution of daily accounting tasks.
• Be ready to engage in operational accounting tasks at all levels—whether addressing quick fixes or tackling complex challenges.
• Actively support all facets of the accounting function, from transactional activities to executive-level financial reporting.
• Ensure that deadlines are met by proactively addressing issues and closing gaps within the accounting organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA certification is mandatory.
• 8-10+ years of relevant accounting experience, with progressive responsibilities.
• At least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Experience leading audits and establishing internal controls.
• Direct experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems).
• Demonstrated ability to implement process enhancements and scalable accounting practices.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Possess a builder mindset and enjoy developing scalable processes while being actively engaged in daily operations.
• Previous experience in high-growth or startup SaaS environments is preferred.
