Control & Instrumentation – Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Become a part of our team to assist in the execution of intricate projects within the nuclear and safety-critical sectors.

• Concentrate on the comprehensive design and specifications of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

• Accountable for converting high-level safety, functional, and operational requirements into effective engineering designs.

• Collaborate closely with systems engineers, safety professionals, and cybersecurity specialists.

• Ensure end-to-end traceability between system requirements, detailed designs, and vendor outputs.

• Create high-quality engineering design documentation for software and hardware development teams.

• Aid in the formulation of verification and validation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in Control & Instrumentation systems design, preferably in nuclear, energy, or other safety-critical sectors (e.g., oil & gas).

• Proven experience in functional specification and system-level design.

• Strong grasp of control systems and control theory.

• Familiarity with system lifecycle processes including verification & validation, commissioning, and maintenance.

• Awareness of industry standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61513, IEC 61226 (or their equivalents).

• Proficient in applying systems engineering methodologies.

• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Polarion).

• Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (Capella preferred).

• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a methodical, logical mindset.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

• Experience working with Control Systems.

• Background in Electrical Engineering.
