Contract Staff Software Engineer – Bug Burndown

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Complete the diagnosis or confirm the diagnosis of long-tail WebCompat issues.

• Create WebCompat interventions as necessary.

• Develop simple fixes with the assistance of AI and implement them.

• Replicate and categorize incoming reports of site breakages.

• Assist in decreasing the backlog of Firefox’s WebCompat bugs by converting reported breakages into diagnosed, actionable, or resolved bugs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong background in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with a knack for debugging real-world site issues.

• Proficient with browser developer tools and adept at cross-browser diagnostics.

• Comfortable utilizing AI tools to expedite diagnosis and solutions.

• Familiarity with Gecko is a significant advantage (though training can be provided).

• Previous experience in WebCompat or web standards is desirable.
