Contract Software Engineer – DOM Core, Firefox/Gecko

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Assist the Firefox DOM Core team in enhancing the overall health of the Session History component.

• Develop Web-Platform tests to increase coverage and create Gecko mochitests as necessary.

• Resolve issues and successfully pass tests to boost the accuracy of Gecko.

• Collaborate with relevant Gecko module owners during code reviews and iterate until successful landing.

• Enhance the test coverage and code accuracy of Session History in Gecko, evaluated by the number of passed test cases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with a browser-engine codebase or in automating a browser engine, preferably Firefox/Gecko.

• Strong proficiency in Javascript with the ability to write automated tests effectively.

• Expertise in software development using C++.

• Excellent debugging skills within a large, mature codebase.

• Ability to work openly, including engaging with public bugs, code reviews, and upstream contributions.

• Previous contributions to Gecko or another significant browser engine are preferred.

• Familiarity with web standards and Web Platform Tests is preferred.
