Contract Software Engineer – DOM Core, Firefox/Gecko

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Enhance the health of the Session History segment within the Firefox DOM Core team.

• Develop Web-Platform tests to boost coverage and create Gecko mochitests as necessary.

• Resolve issues and pass tests to enhance the correctness of Gecko.

• Collaborate through code reviews with pertinent Gecko module owners and refine code for integration.

• Achieve improved test coverage for Session History and enhance the correctness of Gecko code, evaluated by the number of passed test cases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience with a browser-engine codebase or in automation for a browser-engine, preferably Firefox/Gecko.

• Strong JavaScript skills utilized for writing automated tests.

• Expertise in and experience with software development in C++.

• Excellent debugging abilities in a large, mature codebase.

• Comfortable working in an open environment: public bugs, code reviews, and upstream integration.

• Previous contributions to Gecko or another major browser engine (preferred).

• Knowledge of web standards and Web Platform Tests (preferred).
