Contract Physician – Medical Necessity Review, Genetic Testing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Evaluate clinical documentation provided by a Genetic Counselor after patient history intake and pre-test counseling.

• Analyze and determine the medical necessity for genetic testing.

• Review and authorize testing orders and sign necessary supporting documents when appropriate.

• Ensure adherence to state regulations, payer requirements, and internal clinical protocols.

• Uphold HIPAA compliance and documentation standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of an active, unrestricted medical license in good standing. Preference for licenses in Kansas or Arkansas, along with residency in KS or AR.

• Required Medicare enrollment. Preference for enrollment in Kansas or Arkansas Medicaid, or willingness to enroll with administrative assistance.

• Board Certification in a primary care specialty (such as Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or another relevant specialty).

• Ability to independently assess clinical documentation and make medical necessity determinations.

• Comfortable working in a fully asynchronous, technology-driven workflow.

• Strong focus on detail and accuracy in documentation.

• Experience in telehealth or virtual care is preferred.
