This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Assist with regular financial close processes and daily operational accounting for cloud computing, data centers, servers, equipment, colocation, software, data, and various AI infrastructure agreements.
• Convert contract details, pricing, delivery, usage, invoices, and operational information into accruals, true-ups, journal-entry support, reconciliations, and variance explanations.
• Oversee assigned month-end and quarter-end lease-accounting tasks, which include journal entries, rollforwards, account reconciliations, balance-sheet substantiation, and variance analysis.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, rent expenses, interest, amortization, remeasurements, and true-ups.
• Reconcile lease accounts and subledger-to-general-ledger balances, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Conduct assigned fixed-asset accounting activities, including additions, transfers, depreciation, disposals, construction-in-progress tasks, reconciliations, and period-end entries.
• Analyze lease agreements, amendments, renewals, extensions, and termination contracts to determine accounting terms, payment flows, options, incentives, obligations, and effective dates.
• Input and verify leases, modifications, remeasurements, and terminations in the lease-accounting system.
• Support quarterly and annual lease footnote disclosures and necessary tie-outs.
• Implement control procedures and retain necessary supporting documentation.
• Address requests from internal and external auditors.
• Investigate exceptions, document root causes and resolutions, track outstanding items, and escalate significant issues.
• Collaborate with accounting, technical accounting, finance systems, data, engineering, legal, procurement, FP&A, accounts payable, treasury, and business teams.
• Identify process and data quality challenges; propose scalable enhancements.
• Draft business requirements, test lease-system or process modifications, and confirm downstream accounting outputs.
• Enhance workflows through standardization, documentation, automation, and tooling.
• Responsibly utilize approved AI-enabled tools for contract review, data validation, analysis, and documentation.
• Progressive experience in accounting, audit, advisory, or a related finance function, including practical operational accounting and ownership of recurring close deliverables.
• Strong month-end and quarter-end close experience that involves journal entries, account reconciliations, rollforwards, variance analysis, and preparation of reviewer-ready workpapers.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls, with the ability to identify and escalate issues that require technical accounting review.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting lengthy, complex contracts and translating legal and commercial terms into accounting conclusions, system inputs, and supporting documentation.
• Advanced skills in spreadsheets and data analysis, including accurate handling of large datasets.
• Experience using an ERP or similar finance system.
• Ability to maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple agreements, systems, and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities; sound judgment; and clear documentation practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across accounting, finance, legal, systems, data, engineering, and business teams.
• Preferred: practical lease-accounting experience under ASC 842.
• Preferred: hands-on experience in fixed-asset accounting.
• Preferred: familiarity with lease-accounting software and an ERP like Oracle Fusion.
• Preferred: CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting credential.
• Nice-to-have: experience in preparing or reviewing cash flow statements.
• Nice-to-have: background in technology, cloud computing, data centers, colocation, equipment, or infrastructure-intensive settings.
• Nice-to-have: knowledge of SQL, data-query tools, issue-tracking tools, or similar technical tools.
• Nice-to-have: experience supporting SEC reporting, lease footnote disclosures, or public company audit requirements.
• Nice-to-have: experience in process automation, systems implementation, workflow redesign, distributed teams, and collaboration with external service providers.
• Fixed-term contract (FTC) lasting 12 months.
• Access to approved AI-enabled tools to minimize manual tasks and enhance analysis, documentation, and operational efficiency.
