📋 Description

• Engage in and lead initiatives to uphold high-quality proprietary content and terminology products by adhering to established protocols, including mappings between various medical coding systems (such as CPT to SNOMED and ICD-10 to SNOMED CT), value sets utilizing standard terminologies (Sensitivity content), and terms that are accessible to both providers and consumers.

• Contribute to special projects and assist in the development of new products and content as assigned.

• Provide training and mentorship to team members on terminology projects within areas of expertise.

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement necessary refinements or improvements in processes or technology aimed at maximizing the effectiveness of Health Language’s offerings.

• Focus on generating creative solutions within a highly innovative and fast-paced setting.

• Build strong relationships with internal clients and position oneself as an expert in one or more terminology domains.

• Set overall guidelines for each terminology maintenance project leveraging the applicant’s knowledge and background.

• Address customer inquiries regarding product content and coordinate responses to complex requests.

• Grasp market and customer workflows, applying this understanding to enhance our products and services to support the evolution of overall content.

• Utilize AI where applicable to boost delivery efficiency and data quality.

• Follow project processes diligently.

• Work alongside product managers, technology development, and UX/UI teams to create new products and enhance existing ones.

• May compose white papers, blogs, and other high-value commentary.

• Assist in research to identify opportunities for the development of new content and products.

• Ensure robust project processes, data governance, and quality assurance across all projects.

• Actively engage in staff and company meetings.

• Estimate the time and resources necessary to complete larger projects.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or a related technical degree or equivalent work experience.

• Certification such as CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P, or RHIT/RHIA – OR a clinical background (nursing, medical, laboratory, pharmacy) – OR training/experience in informatics or terminology.

• Over 5 years of proven experience in developing and maintaining healthcare terminology products.

• More than 7 years of experience working with medical terminology (e.g., HCPCS, SNOMED, etc.), preferably utilizing Health Language-based data models.

• Exceptional analytical and research skills are required.

• Strong technical computer skills are necessary.

• Proficiency in Excel is required.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

• Strong organizational skills are required.

• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects effectively.

• Time management skills and the ability to work independently are required.

• Basic database knowledge is preferred.

• Familiarity with AI tools as part of terminology delivery is preferred.

• Exhibit personal characteristics such as professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, inquisitiveness, and accountability.

• Collaborative mindset – Works closely with team members and stakeholders to identify problems, gain insights, and work towards delivering solutions.
