Content Developer, English Language Arts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and evaluate content-specific test items, which include multiple choice questions, technology-enhanced items, extended responses, cluster sets, performance-based tasks, and simulations across various grade levels for large-scale assessments.

• Assist in the development of item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and other related documents.

• Utilize AI-driven tools to aid in the development, review, and enhancement of assessment content, ensuring that the outputs align with quality and accessibility standards.

• Collaborate with team members to incorporate AI-generated assets into assessment workflows, offering feedback based on content and educational expertise.

• Aid in the selection, assignment, management, and training of item/passage writers and educators to create items that adhere to standards, cognitive complexity, and item development best practices.

• Facilitate and support customer meetings while providing expertise in content assessment.

• Oversee activities related to test construction and the review of created test forms.

• Consult with the customer as necessary, which includes participating in planning, status, and review meetings.

• Collaborate closely with test development managers, other content developers, psychometricians, and various Pearson groups.

• Remain informed about emerging technologies relevant to the creation of educational content and assessments, including AI.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in education, a content-specific area, or equivalent experience is required.

• A minimum of five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the relevant content-specific area is preferred.

• Professional knowledge of the content-specific area and current educational trends is required.

• Some experience in large-scale educational measurement is preferred.

• General knowledge of all phases involved in the development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments is preferred.

• Proven excellence in AI-supported content development, or clear evidence of strong potential and readiness to effectively leverage AI in content creation.

• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for educational purposes.

• Proficiency in basic software tools and technology, along with the confidence to work with unfamiliar programs.

• A demonstrated interest in learning about and adapting to new AI technologies as they develop.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to creatively and flexibly tackle challenges with a diverse range of audiences.

• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, along with the capacity to manage multiple activities and adapt to unforeseen events.
