This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Create and evaluate content-specific test items, which include multiple choice questions, technology-enhanced assessments, extended responses, cluster sets, performance-based tasks, and simulations for various grade levels in large-scale evaluations.
• Assist in the development of item, passage, and test specifications, along with item development plans, test blueprints, and other related documents.
• Utilize AI-driven tools to aid in the creation, review, and improvement of assessment content while adhering to quality and accessibility standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to incorporate AI-generated materials into assessment processes and offer expert feedback.
• Select, assign, oversee, and train item/passage writers and educators.
• Lead and support customer meetings, providing expertise in content assessment.
• Guide test-construction activities and assess completed test forms.
• Consult with clients during planning, status updates, and review meetings.
• Partner with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and other groups within Pearson.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies relevant to the creation of educational content and assessment, including AI advancements.
• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree in education, a content-specific discipline, or equivalent experience is required.
• A minimum of five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary educator in the relevant content area is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of the content-specific area and current educational trends is essential.
• Experience in large-scale educational measurement is preferred.
• A general understanding of all phases regarding the development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments is preferred.
• Proven excellence in AI-assisted content development or strong potential demonstrated in leveraging AI effectively for content creation.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and assessing AI-generated educational content.
• Proficiency in basic software tools and technology, along with the confidence to engage with unfamiliar programs.
• A keen interest in learning and adapting to evolving AI technologies.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Capability to creatively and flexibly tackle challenges with diverse audiences.
• Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to unforeseen circumstances.
• Some travel may be necessary.
