This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Dominican Republic.
• Strengthen the implementation of the National Tobacco Cessation Services Network through ongoing technical assistance.
• Monitor guidelines, patient instructions, and care flowcharts approved by the Ministry of Public Health.
• Coordinate cascade training processes with the Ministry of Health and the National Health Service.
• Organize continuous virtual training sessions, technical workshops, and webinars on tobacco cessation and pharmacotherapy.
• Conduct motivational interviews and provide clinical follow-up for patients.
• Support the integration of cessation services in health facilities and the national teleassistance line.
• Collaborate with the Tobacco Cessation Table, HEARTS management team, mental health line, and civil society.
• Assist national institutions in cessation treatments and brief interventions to quit smoking.
• Provide technical knowledge on tobacco control based on scientific evidence and international best practices.
• Promote intersectoral coordination and civil society participation.
• Prepare technical reports and establish indicators to monitor quality, coverage, and outcomes.
• Form regional training teams, develop schedules, and train teams from two prioritized SRS.
• Deliver a final report containing the technical products of the consultancy.
• University degree in a field related to social sciences, economic sciences, or health sciences.
• At least 7 years of accumulated national experience in professional, academic, and/or social organization contexts.
• Knowledge of the Dominican health system and the implementation of the HEARTS strategy.
• Proficiency in Spanish.
• Dominican nationality or legal residency in the Dominican Republic for foreigners.
• Ability to write reports and documents and deliver oral and written presentations.
• Capacity to develop and promote multisectoral collaboration alliances.
• Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, email, Outlook, Internet, and basic statistics.
• Familiarity with Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge to develop, monitor, and evaluate plans.
• Good understanding of the current smoke-free spaces law in the Dominican Republic.
• Awareness of the socioeconomic and cultural situation in the Dominican Republic.
• Willingness to travel.
• Curriculum Vitae and motivation letter required.
• Completion of mandatory training courses and sessions, and attendance at follow-up meetings as required.
• One-time payment of 432,000.00 Dominican pesos upon delivery and approval of the products.
• Mandatory training and formation sessions.
• Virtual or hybrid work for technical workshops and webinars.
• Inclusion in the roster for future similar consultancies, without guarantee of selection.
