Consulting Psychiatrist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Initiate Allara's Psychiatry Service Line aimed at assisting women dealing with the intersection of hormonal and mental health issues.

• Create clinical protocols for managing mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and PMDD, encompassing medication management and therapeutic approaches.

• Develop protocols for behavioral health safety and escalation procedures.

• Establish a hiring rubric and assessment framework for PMHNP candidates.

• Engage in initial interviews for PMHNPs alongside the clinical team.

• Manage a patient panel following the launch, dedicating 50% of time to mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and PMDD cases.

• Oversee PMHNPs.

• Offer case consultations.

• Assist with ad-hoc escalations.

• Collaborate closely with clinical and operations leadership to create the clinical infrastructure, protocols, safeguards, and hiring standards for psychiatric care.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current board certification in Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP).

• An active, unrestricted, and unencumbered medical license in at least one of the following states: California, Florida, New York, or Texas.

• Consideration may be given to candidates with an IMLC license who are willing to obtain a state license from the aforementioned states.

• A minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience as a psychiatrist, with a focus on outpatient care.

• Proven experience in treating conditions that overlap hormonal and mental health, such as depression, anxiety, and PMDD.

• Experience in supervising or collaborating with psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) or other advanced practice providers.

• Capacity to transform clinical rigor into scalable protocols, safety standards, and hiring frameworks in a dynamic environment.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong aptitude for connecting with patients virtually and delivering empathetic, evidence-based care.

• Proficient in navigating EMR systems, Gmail, Google Calendar, Zoom, and scheduling platforms.
