This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Perform video-based psychiatric consultations with patients regarding CBMP treatment, which includes initial assessments and ongoing evaluations.
• Make prescribing decisions based on evidence within our clinical governance framework.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of pharmacists and nurses, with pre-consultation and follow-up activities supported by the broader clinical team.
• Engage in the collection of clinical outcome data to help establish the UK evidence base for CBMPs in psychiatry.
• Play a role in clinical governance, participate in MDT meetings, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of our prescribing protocols.
• For senior candidates: take part in (or lead) responsibilities at the Medical Director level, encompassing governance frameworks, prescribing policies, and clinical strategy.
• Complete a structured clinical induction before managing your own clinic: observe at least three MDT meetings and shadow three full patient consultations (with patient consent); the first clinic must be observed by the Medical Director.
• Engage in the high-risk patient register and the 18–24 year-old patient register, applying enhanced monitoring protocols for vulnerable patients in accordance with our clinical governance framework.
• Secure documented informed consent from patients before making any prescribing decisions and evaluate mental capacity in compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
• Prescribe based on independent clinical judgment; prescribing decisions are not tied to session volume, revenue targets, or product choices.
• Participate in the monthly clinical audit cycle, which includes consultation note audits, reviews of prescribing rationale, and outcome audits.
• Maintain GMC revalidation and good standing throughout your engagement, and promptly inform the clinical governance team of any changes to your registration status.
• Full GMC Registration with a license to practice in the UK.
• Completion of Specialist Training (CCT/CCST) or equivalent certification.
• Listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Psychiatry.
• A genuine interest in alternative therapies and the evolving evidence surrounding CBMPs.

• Complete mandatory training prior to starting patient-facing responsibilities, including role-specific modules and annual or triennial refreshers.
• Report all incidents and significant occurrences through our incident reporting process, including near misses and adverse patient outcomes.
• Adhere to all patient confidentiality and information governance requirements as outlined in our information governance and confidentiality policies at all times, even post-employment.
• Enhanced DBS check (to be completed before starting work, as required).
• Sessional, part-time, or flexible engagement — with a clear pathway to expanded responsibilities (including Medical Director roles).
• Competitive sessional rates, regularly reviewed against the UK private market.
• Comprehensive professional indemnity coverage for your work.
• No night shifts or on-call obligations.
• CPD-accredited medical cannabis education and tailored specialist training.
• A collaborative multidisciplinary team that enables you to concentrate on prescribing and patient care.
