Consultant, Graphic Novel Development and Illustration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.

📋 Description

• Revise the book cover for the initial volume of the MangRes graphic novel 'Visiones del Manglar', adhering to UNESCO Publications Guidelines.

• Create three chapters for the second volume of the MangRes graphic novel 'Visiones del Manglar'. Format: A4, with a maximum of 20 pages per chapter.

• Produce illustrations for the 2nd and 3rd chapters, ensuring they align with the project's themes and messaging.

• Illustrate mangrove species, landscapes, and environments from Latin America and the Caribbean.

• Guarantee scientific accuracy while contributing to educational and environmental awareness initiatives.

• Design the layout and incorporate approved text into the final presentation.

• Submit the finalized illustrations for the 2nd and 3rd chapters for a comprehensive review, addressing all feedback from UNESCO.

• Provide print-ready and digital files for web (screen) use to UNESCO.

• Establish a cohesive color palette, character design, and artistic technique appropriate for the project.

• Ensure adherence to UNESCO Publications Guidelines, Open Access Policy, visual identity and branding standards, as well as all editorial, technical, and copyright directives from UNESCO.

⛳️ Requirements

• A technical degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, Visual Arts, Animation, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of professional experience in illustration, graphic novel creation, comic production, or visual storytelling.

• Proven experience in illustration that promotes and safeguards biodiversity.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver print-ready files for professional publication.

• Previous experience collaborating with international organizations or UN agencies is advantageous.

• Advanced skills in digital illustration and design software, including Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

• Knowledge of copyright, intellectual property rights, and image licensing requirements.

• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Competence in preparing high-resolution, print-ready files in various formats.
