Consultant, Culture-Cultivating Inclusive and Sustainable AI Policy for the Creative Sector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Carry out and oversee a systematic comparative analysis of AI governance frameworks across the EU, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, South Korea, Brazil, and South Africa.

• Perform desk-based research to map out national AI laws, regulatory strategies, and policy frameworks.

• Analyze sector-specific measures pertinent to cultural and creative industries as well as GLAM institutions.

• Evaluate AI ethics, intellectual property management, labor rights and skills development, cultural diversity and inclusion, data governance, and access to AI tools.

• Identify strategies to mitigate issues such as data scarcity, algorithmic bias, and fragmentation.

• Investigate alternative platform structures that address the concentration of cultural gatekeeping.

• Create structured profiles of AI policies and initiatives for each jurisdiction.

• Coordinate contributions from partner institutions responsible for particular geographic regions.

• Provide technical guidance to the pan-European Survey on the Impact of AI.

• Participate in online consortium meetings and accompany UNESCO teams in relevant meetings and working groups.

• Submit progress reports and contribute to internal project reviews and reporting cycles.

• Deliver comparative analyses, jurisdictional profiles, a final consolidated report, findings, and policy recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in international law, public policy, political science, digital governance, or related fields.

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.

• Proven experience in comparative policy analysis or regulatory research, preferably in AI, digital governance, or culture.

• Documented history of producing research reports, policy briefs, or academic publications.

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in project management and implementation.

• Exceptional writing and communication skills.

• Strong analytical abilities in comparative law and policy research methodologies.

• Comprehensive understanding of AI governance frameworks and the regulatory landscape for AI at both EU and international levels.

• Familiarity with policies related to cultural and creative industries, intellectual property rights, and cultural diversity frameworks.

• Capability to synthesize extensive legal and policy texts across multiple languages and jurisdictions.

• Excellent fluency in spoken and written English.

• Working knowledge of French or Spanish is preferred, though not mandatory.
