This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Support an Apex client in the areas of occupational safety and health.
• Engage in the prevention of workplace injuries and risks by performing checklist-based health and safety audits on building plans, construction sites, and retrofitted structures.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders, construction teams, developers, engineers, and building occupants to guarantee a safe operational facility for the client.
• Carry out site observations aimed at identifying and evaluating compliance with client-established design requirements.
• Work together and implement safety projects with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve the desired project pace.
• Provide updates to project managers, client relationship managers, or business development personnel regarding the status of the project.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in a safety or engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience is required in a safety or engineering-related field.
• Experience in warehouse business environments is advantageous.
• A strong understanding of occupational safety technical subject matter and its application in practical situations is essential.
• Well-versed in standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of occupational safety.
• Strong technical knowledge is preferred in the following topics: Construction safety, Job Safety Analysis, Machine Guarding, Slip/Trip/Fall Prevention, Personal Protective Equipment, and a broad understanding of OSHA regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential.
• A significant amount of self-initiative is required.
• Utilize experience and judgment in conjunction with the overall scope of work provided by the client to plan and achieve objectives.
• Ensure adherence to all EHS regulations and stay updated on any legal changes that affect the organization.
• Strong technical writing capabilities, the ability to multitask effectively, safety awareness, and a solid understanding of safe work practices are necessary.
• Experience in data management and report creation is required.
• A valid driver's license is mandatory.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is essential.
