
Construction Estimator – Mechanical & Process Piping

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create cost plans and estimates from the initial concept through to detailed design stages.
• Assist clients with land acquisitions.
• Present updated cost plans at key design milestones.
• Evaluate proposed design modifications and emerging technologies, providing estimates accordingly.
• Contribute commercial insights to design optioneering and value engineering initiatives.
• Develop cash commit forecasts throughout the construction life cycle.
• Partner with stakeholders to collaborate on estimates and cost plans.
• Assess labor markets and cost factors, including unions and taxation.
• Aid clients with monthly presentations.
• Deliver Life Cycle Costing models.
• Incorporate benchmarking for precise data collection.
• Generate benchmarking reports and cultivate relevant data.
• Measure and estimate projects from foundational principles across all design phases.
• Review external estimates for market consistency and compile findings reports.
• Prepare estimates for project change orders and assess EPCM submissions.
• Provide estimating assistance across projects and programs in the life sciences sector.
• Comply with relevant SOX control responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3–5 years of pertinent experience.
• Background in a construction cost management role, such as Estimating, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Cost Controls.
• Experience in program-level cost management for medium to large-scale construction projects.
• Familiarity with mechanical and process piping.
• Strong grounding in cost estimation and management.
• Experience with measurement software.
• Proficient in measuring using the CSI MasterFormat.
• Good understanding of technical aspects within the construction industry, including value management and value engineering.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to excel in a client-facing environment.
• Experience with CostX is preferred but not mandatory.
• AACE membership or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
