Construction Client Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily accounting activities for a range of construction clients.

• Personally handle payroll processing, including the management of payroll taxes and related filings.

• Conduct bank reconciliations, sales tax submissions, month-end closing activities, billing assistance, and routine audit/year-end support.

• Assist with job costing, work in progress (WIP), progress billing, accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR), and other construction accounting requirements.

• Provide ongoing support to clients with their accounting needs and daily Sage 100 Contractor workflows.

• Ensure accurate record-keeping and maintain a clear audit trail for all client-related work.

• Identify and address issues independently whenever feasible.

• Communicate effectively with clients and ensure follow-through on commitments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in construction accounting.

• Prior experience with Sage 100 Contractor is highly preferred.

• Practical experience with payroll, including managing payroll taxes and filings.

• In-depth knowledge of job costing, WIP, progress billing, AP/AR, and month-end closing procedures.

• Direct hands-on accounting experience with accountability for completing tasks, rather than merely overseeing others.

• Capability to manage multiple clients and priorities independently.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to follow-through.

• Comfort in working within a highly autonomous environment.
