Construction Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support to the Construction and Development Teams while collaborating with Operations, Procurement, and Finance across the global organization.

• Oversee all aspects of job costing for large and intricate construction projects.

• Manage project-specific accounts payable, commitments, vendor compliance, budgets, budget variations, and change orders.

• Analyze and approve invoices and purchase orders related to project-specific accounts payable.

• Prepare client invoicing in accordance with contract requirements and deadlines.

• Assist the Finance team with project cash flow reporting.

• Develop construction cost summaries and project cost reports.

• Support project inquiries concerning liability and capital funding requirements.

• Review and investigate variances in construction projects, identifying risks and opportunities.

• Conduct data research and analysis to assist the Construction and Finance teams.

• Manage vendor compliance, including preliminary lien notices, insurance, and retention.

• Maintain regular communication with General Contractors and vendors.

• Assist in formulating policies and procedures to streamline and enhance operations.

• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Construction / Project Accounting sector.

• Experience with large construction projects is advantageous.

• Familiarity with working in multiple currencies is a plus.

• Experience using NetSuite is beneficial.

• Capability to thrive and excel in a remote work environment.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume, fast-paced, transaction-oriented setting.

• A growth-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and share knowledge.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Advanced Excel skills are preferred.
