Configuration Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Set up and oversee software applications along with system configurations.

• Manage configuration baselines throughout development, testing, and production stages.

• Ensure all modifications are precise, well-documented, and authorized.

• Assist in software release and deployment initiatives.

• Keep configuration records, version histories, and release documentation updated.

• Collaborate with Engineering and QA to maintain consistency across builds.

• Create and update configuration documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and runbooks.

• Cooperate with Software Engineering, QA, DevOps, Product, and Customer Support teams.

• Identify and resolve configuration-related challenges across various environments.

• Engage in root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.

• Recognize opportunities for enhancing tools, processes, and automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience in configuration, systems, or software support.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• Background in a software development or SaaS setting.

• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and structured release workflows.

• Excellent attention to detail and capability to manage multiple configurations simultaneously.

• Experience with embedded or real-time systems along with environment management.

• Familiarity with change control and deployment methodologies.

• Experience in supporting enterprise, on-premise, or hybrid systems.
