Computational Biologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhancing the capability of LLM agents to perform long, coherent, data-driven discovery tasks within actual scientific environments and customer data systems.

• Creating benchmarks to assess LLM agent performance, establish acceptance criteria, and identify failure modes for complex scientific tasks.

• Collaborating closely with scientists and research leaders at client organizations to implement AI agents and facilitate groundbreaking discoveries in biology.

• Acting as the scientific authority on AI-generated results, assessing the accuracy of discoveries for biological validity, pinpointing failure modes, and determining areas for further exploration.

• Contributing to internal knowledge resources, scientific playbooks, and publications that further the field of AI-driven biological discovery.

• Partnering with GTM and account executives to outline engagements, define success metrics, and assist in pre-sales technical evaluations.

• Establishing trusted relationships with research scientists and leaders within customer organizations, gaining credibility as both a scientific peer and an adept AI practitioner.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in biological science, broadly interpreted; or equivalent demonstrated expertise through professional experience.

• Understanding of the regulatory and compliance landscape in pharmaceutical or biotech research.

• Experience analyzing one or more of the following types of complex biological data in a first-author publication: sc-omics data, high throughput screen data, proteomics or lipidomics data, human genetic data, imaging data, or protein structure data.

• Profound expertise in one area of mammalian biology with a proven ability to quickly gain working fluency in related domains.

• Practical experience utilizing LLM and agentic AI tools in a biological research setting.

• Strong critical thinking abilities and the capacity to identify errors in LLM-generated analyses.

• Experience presenting scientific findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences at all levels, effectively communicating biological complexities, AI limitations, and research outcomes.
