This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Available to instruct synchronous online courses through Microsoft Teams every Monday and Tuesday.
• Plan and structure lessons in ways that enhance student learning and engagement.
• Adjust instructional methods and strategies as needed to accommodate diverse student needs.
• Utilize effective teaching and learning strategies to convey subject matter to students in a synchronous online format (Microsoft Teams).
• Hold current certifications in the subjects being taught.
• Exhibit comprehensive and precise knowledge of their field or discipline.
• Relate their subject matter to associated fields.
• Keep up to date in their subject area through professional development, participation in professional organizations, and attending relevant meetings, conferences, or workshops.
• Ensure the Student Database is consistently updated and accurate regarding student attendance and grade records.
• Comply with accreditation requirements related to instructional quality, scheduled class hour mandates, and CIAT policies and procedures.
• Foster collaboration with fellow staff members and engage in the implementation of new projects and ideas.
• Adhere to the CIAT business casual dress code.
• Information Technology Instructors must present official transcripts for a bachelor's degree or higher (from an accredited institution) and certification in the subject being taught.
• The certification sought is CompTIA Network+.
• A minimum of three years of experience in the respective field or two years of teaching experience is required.
• Experience in synchronous online teaching is preferred.
• Advanced subject matter expertise is preferred, along with a commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about advancements in the field.
• Strong presentation, communication, and technology skills are essential.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with learning technologies such as Canvas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a high level of dependability.
• Capability to multitask effectively.
• Able to solve problems quickly and efficiently, in a timely manner.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, academic departments, and administration to promote student success, achieve institutional goals, and contribute to a positive and inclusive culture.
• Dedication to cultivating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that honors the diversity of students' backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
• Knowledge of current trends, best practices, and pedagogical methods in higher education.
• Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of effectively conveying information and interacting with students, colleagues, and others.
• Uphold high ethical standards and model professionalism for others.
• Compliance with all college policies, procedures, and regulations, including those pertaining to academic integrity, student conduct, and instructional delivery.
