This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Composite Technician II position offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to become part of RCL's Composites team. This role includes direct support for the PIC (Person in Charge)/Team Lead and requires active participation in repairs, contributing to the team's daily success.
• Expect to travel 100% of the time, which may involve composite part fabrication at our main shop. Typical workweeks consist of 6 days and 60 hours.
• Emphasize a safe work environment by participating in a daily "Plan of the Day" (POD) meeting with the crew and familiarizing yourself with the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) before commencing work. Safety is RCL's utmost priority.
• Be prepared to work at heights for external repairs or in confined spaces for internal repairs. You must confidently perform repairs in extreme heights and restricted areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the material trailer. Keep track of trailer inventory and communicate consumable needs to the PIC promptly to manage material requirements effectively.
• Collaborate effectively within a team. Follow verbal or written instructions from the PIC, Supervisor, and management.
• Proficiently use a grinder to scarf fiberglass layers and visually identify ply layers/types of fiberglass.
• Strong understanding of the lamination process, including vacuum consolidation and post-curing procedures.
• Accurate preparation of fiberglass and chemicals.
• Proper setup of 360 Platforms and 2M Baskets, which includes conducting daily Platform and Rigging Inspections.
• Experience in tower rigging for suspended platform access and tag line operation.
• Capability to perform quality composite repairs in accordance with RCL's standards and/or written work instructions.
• A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to operate a ¾ ton truck while towing a trailer.
• A solid foundational knowledge of safe working practices and PPE for composite repair tasks.
• Must align with RCL’s Safety and Quality Culture.
• Self-motivated individual with a high level of integrity.
• Education: High School Graduate, GED, or relevant technical school diploma.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of composite repair experience.
• Required Language: English; multilingual skills are advantageous.
• Certificates & Licenses: GWO, OSHA 10, BST, ART, CoHe, and BTT; all necessary certificates are issued annually by RCL’s GWO-certified training department.
