
Compliance Manager – Leave and Disability Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide direct compliance assistance for Paid Family Leave/Paid Family Medical Leave private plans and Statutory Disability plans on both self-insured and fully-insured bases.
• Identify requirements and create guidance for employer clients seeking approval for private plans in accordance with state regulations.
• Aid in the drafting of plan documents and templates.
• Support the filing of plans and the renewal requirements associated with them.
• Draft and maintain templates for notices mandated by state law.
• Ensure that state reporting requirements are effectively implemented and sustained.
• Monitor and communicate market changes, including updates to regulations, leave laws, and employer trends.
• Identify product opportunities and collaborate with product and marketing teams on customer-facing materials.
• Consult with internal Voya teams and employer clients regarding the implementation and application of state leave laws.
• Represent Voya at industry events and conferences.
• Provide training for the Voya distribution team on Statutory Disability and Paid Family Medical Leave legislation.
• Address customer and regulatory inquiries, including complaints.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Juris doctorate with experience in Employment Law is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in in-house leave management, absence, and disability consulting, or in leave-related roles with an insurance carrier or leave administration vendor.
• Comprehensive knowledge of FMLA, state leave laws, ADA, PFML, paid sick leave, and pregnancy-related leave laws.
• Insight into the client life cycle from implementation to ongoing subject-matter expertise.
• Experience with Short Term Disability plans is advantageous.
