This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise compliance for affordable housing within a designated portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations as well as company policies.
• Keep track of regulatory changes, providing updates and best practices to the Compliance Department.
• Deliver precise quarterly and annual reports within specified deadlines.
• Manage SharePoint workbooks, compliance trackers, and departmental resources.
• Conduct peer reviews of certifications for managers and Assistant Property Managers.
• Offer compliance guidance and technical expertise to Compliance Managers and operational teams.
• Prepare documentation for pre-onsite agency file audits and assist in agency audit preparations.
• Support property visits, agency inspections, responses to corrective actions, and resolution of intricate compliance issues.
• Report major audit findings and compliance shortcomings to the Vice President of Compliance.
• Communicate effectively with Compliance staff, Regional Management, syndicators, clients, operational leaders, and corporate partners.
• Engage in client strategy discussions and conduct meetings with compliance staff and leadership.
• Mentor Compliance Managers and compliance professionals; identify training opportunities and provide advanced training.
• Collaborate with the Vice President of Compliance to formulate action plans for non-compliant properties.
• Anticipate compliance risks, propose solutions, and independently address complex issues.
• Guide less experienced Compliance Managers in problem-solving techniques.
• Substitute for other Compliance Managers as necessary and keep an updated Outlook calendar.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
• Extensive experience in affordable housing compliance, property management, or a related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of affordable housing programs, regulations, and agency requirements.
• Advanced understanding of compliance programs and regulations pertaining to affordable housing.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to foster collaborative relationships across various departments and with external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Capability to work independently while providing leadership and guidance to others.
• Ability to operate in a standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer usage.
• Occasional travel to properties, client meetings, and training events may be required.
