This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.
• Carry out assigned audit engagements from the planning phase to reporting, under the supervision of the Head of Audit.
• Conduct process walkthroughs, document procedures, and assess the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls.
• Execute thorough testing of IT General Controls (ITGCs) as well as automated or manual business process controls across essential systems and platforms.
• Utilize direct system data extraction and automated testing methods instead of relying exclusively on manual sampling.
• Create clear working papers that support audit conclusions, employing a proportionate, risk-based approach.
• Assess compliance across group entities, including EU (MiFID II, AIFMD, UCITS, GDPR, AML), UK (FCA, SMCR, Consumer Duty), Hong Kong (SFC Code of Conduct, AML/CFT), and Dubai (DFSA Rulebook, AML).
• Remain updated on global regulatory changes while working alongside local compliance teams to gather insights and clarify expectations.
• Prepare audit findings, review results with process owners, and agree on actionable management action plans (MAPs).
• Track the status of outstanding findings, rigorously verify remediation actions, and maintain precise audit system records.
• Oversee co-sourced and outsourced audit providers to ensure smooth and high-quality execution of specialized reviews.
• Support the Head of Audit with materials for the Audit Committee, assist with external audits, and coordinate regulatory examinations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, particularly in advancing data analytics and continuous auditing capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Compliance, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification completed or in progress: CIA, CISA, CAMS (ACAMS), or a recognized regulatory compliance qualification (e.g., ICA Diploma).
• Over 5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk/compliance roles.
• Experience in auditing or closely collaborating within the investment sector, such as brokerages, exchanges, trading platforms, wealth management, or dynamic fintech environments.
• Familiarity with at least two of the following regulatory environments is beneficial: EU, UK, Hong Kong, or the Middle East (DIFC/DFSA).
• Knowledge of audit management software and the Microsoft Office suite, especially advanced Excel.
• Strong understanding of internal control principles and contemporary audit methodologies.
• Capability to comprehend automated processes, complex system workflows, and cloud-based technology architectures.
• Strong analytical abilities to extract, manipulate, and analyze data directly from systems.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risks clearly to non-audit stakeholders.
• Proactive, inquisitive, and eager to learn, with the capacity to manage time effectively and meet deadlines across multiple tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach, and a high level of integrity.
• Ability to work efficiently in a lean, remote-first team setting.
