Community MSL, Virology (HIV) – Regional Medical Scientific Associate Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Identify, establish, and nurture collaborative professional relationships with community-based scientific leaders and healthcare providers.

• Engage in peer-level scientific discussions and ensure a consistent Medical Affairs presence.

• Participate in proactive discussions regarding scientific matters, prevention gaps, disparities, and barriers to uptake, without focusing on specific products.

• Facilitate the exchange of scientific information and combine scientific knowledge with actionable insights for research, development, and strategic initiatives.

• Relay stakeholder perspectives, insights, and feedback on data, clinical trends, and the landscape of HIV treatment and prevention to Medical Affairs headquarters teams.

• Represent R&D at scientific meetings and congresses.

• Contribute to R&D debriefs, discussions on insights, and post-congress reports.

• Develop and implement territory plans that align with the global Virology strategy.

• Assist with data generation activities, including the Investigator Study Program, as requested.

• Identify potential investigators for phase II–IV clinical development programs.

• Provide scientific support for R&D-sponsored trials as necessary.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the disease and therapeutic area through ongoing educational efforts.

• Adhere to company policies as well as applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree or advanced practice professional relevant to Virology and the role, such as PhD, PharmD, NP, or PA.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.

• At least 3 years of clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV or a related therapeutic area.

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time overnight and reside within the coverage region.

• Strong therapeutic competency and up-to-date knowledge of Virology trends and information.

• Capability to network and collaborate with external scientific leaders and healthcare providers.

• Proficiency in consolidating and comprehending complex data sets, planning and/or executing data analyses, summarizing or synthesizing data, and objectively interpreting results.

• Familiarity with national and societal treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, OIG, HIPAA, and pertinent ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations.

• Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.

• Awareness of unmet needs and implementation barriers among priority populations in community-based and non-medical contexts.

• Preferred: prior experience within the coverage region and established connections with HIV community stakeholders, particularly in HIV prevention.

• Demonstrated effective leadership skills.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Must possess a valid driving license.

• Visa sponsorship is not available.
